Working Towards a Brighter Future
ATLANTA YOUTH PROJECT
Who We Are
The Atlanta Youth Project’s vision is to establish relationships in underserved neighborhoods to provide the support, resources and encouragement necessary to build vibrant communities and promote positive youth leadership. By providing safe and easy access for volunteers wishing to serve the city, the Atlanta Youth Project strives to bring suburban and urban communities into partnership.
Our History
In 1991, Larry Teem founded the Atlanta Youth Project. In 1997 he founded the Atlanta Youth Academy. He took the skills he developed serving as a youth minister in the suburbs and used them to create year round youth programs for low-income neighborhoods.
“Serving the youth of Atlanta by filling a year round need for spiritual, emotional, social, educational, and physical development.”
