Atlanta Youth Project
Summer Camp
The Atlanta Youth Project Summer Camp is a 58 acre site just outside the Atlanta city limits that serves 800-1000 children per summer. The camp offers inner city youth ages 5 to 18 a free opportunity to participate in basketball, tennis, swimming, and water sports – plus enjoy a farm experience where they can interact with all sorts of animals, from miniature horses to alpacas. Campers are given unique outdoor experiences which help develop self-esteem and confidence through activities like caring for animals, archery, swimming, canoeing, fishing, and nature scavenger hunts. Most of the campers who attend have never been fishing or canoeing. The camp offers both a day and overnight camping experience.
The Atlanta Youth Project Summer Camp is funded by individuals, corporations and foundation grants.
